The monastery of St Benedict at Ewu-Ishan in Edo State Nigeria belongs to the Benedictine Congregation of the Annunciation of the Roman Catholic Church.

This monastery was founded at Ewu-Ishan on the feast of St Benedict 11 th July 1979 by Glenstal Abbey Ireland. After 26years the monastery became an independent Priory on July 11, 2006.

On July 15, 2006, the monastery completed a water project to help provide drinking water to the villagers .

Other Community development efforts by the monks of the monastery include provision of employment for both the youth and adult in the surrounding villages and beyond and also provision of health care to the people in the spirit of charity.
